Dear Cisco Mexico,

This last 21 and 22 of October Cisco was present for the first time ever on the Third Congress of Education Formando Formadores “Hay Talento 2011” During this event, Cisco’s commitment to education and teacher professional development in Mexico was demonstrated at its best. The project enhanced business relationships and created a collaborative and innovative CSR model that can be replicated in other event in Mexico and other geographies.

This Congress has been a constant and a reference for Televisa Foundation, the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey Campus Ciudad de México, and Excelencia Educativa, the group of teacher from Formando Formadores that reaches more than 50,000 in Mexico. Tec de Monterrey hosted 1,500 teachers and key speakers at an on-site event. However, for the first time, the impact of the event was extended thanks to Cisco´s collaboration. The Congress was delivered on line and teachers with no internet access and without the possibility of travelling to Mexico City could attend the event through one of the 15 sites available at a Cisco Networking Academy in 9 states, who offered facilities and infrastructure to broadcast live webex sessions.

Not only the teachers abroad were fascinated to attend on line, having content and speeches live stream. They could also interact via chat asking questions directly to the speakers and participate at the raffle at the end of the Congress, where Cisco donated 5 flip cameras. But also, on site, at the Mexico City Campus key speakers and partners were amazed on the deployment of the IT solution.

Cisco brand also had a high impact and visibility. Cisco was mentioned several times during the 2 days of the event providing Cisco with enormous visibility as a trusted education advisor with school teachers. Also, the teacher community that attended received, brochures and information of the Cisco Learning Exchange, CLX platform, thanks to the 5 cabin booths located at the event and also on Social Media. Our brand was placed as an extraordinary partner consolidating our commitment and access to the Education and Economic Development, connecting innovative education solutions with direct, measurable classroom impacts, extending the model of professional development for teachers throughout Mexico, building an emerging spirit of volunteerism.

With our participation, we enhanced strategic CSR relationships, facilitated innovative collaboration in deploying local solutions by building an eco-system of partners, sustained solutions for specific social benefit, optimized the operation with information sharing, joining strategic planning and execution, leveraged our business relationships and created a collaborative and innovative model with the network of Cisco Networking Academies, non-profit partners, internal Cisco teams, business service providers, Televisa Foundation and the ITESM. Teachers Without Borders, our NGO partner, could share best practices at a panel during the event.
